Hey guys

I am installing watercooling next week, just getting last bits.
I bought the EK D5 with 140mm tube res combo and was wondering what speed i should have?
Loop consists of 3 ek pe 360 rads with enermax tb silence push/pull fans, 2 780s with EK nickel blocks, ek supremacy full nickel cpu block (4770k, currently at 4.2 ghz),acrylic tubing.
Quite a long loop, case is large as well, CL S8.
Now, I would like to keep temps low but also don't want the pump to run to loud.
Right now loudest parts of my pc are 780s, fan speed at 40% and I wouldn't want to have any more noise than that from the pump.
Any idea what speed out of 5 possible should I choose, to find a 'sweet spot'?

Thanks

BH

Personally, when I adjusted the pump setting on my D5 I couldn't hear the difference. I use Scythe GTs @ around 50% speed normally.

As long as I used a shoggy sponge I honestly could not hear the pump with fans running at 400rpm.
However I found that setting 3 was suitable for my needs in a haf-x.
All I did was run the system at each setting for a few hours gaming to decide what setting was sufficient before the decrease negligible.
Good luck with the wc'ing :)

Was using one of those pump res combos late last year, it has dampners built in ;)

Plus you'll likely need to push the pump as hard as possible for that loop.

Thanks for the info.
I can't use the sponge, because the pump/res is hanging from the side of the case, but I added the dampners so hopefully that will be enough.
Due to some problems with mounting 3rd rad, I'll be using 2.
Anyway, I'll post about it in my log.

4 and 5 is for extreme uber rig so you will defo don't need to run at those speeds

best way to find out what speed your loop need is to run some long cpu/GPU benchmark and have CPUID HWMonitor on to see temps . and then just slowly adjust speed down till you will see CPU/GPU temp start rising ,
i done it the same way and found out that my loop (4930k 2x780ti 360and240 rad) need only 2400RPM on pump with is somewhere around 2-3 speed on D5 pump

there is not point to run your pump on high speed as its not beneficial , and remember higher speed is more pressure on hose with eventually can slip down from fitting and make some damage.
So i advice you to find right speed for your loop and run it always on same speed .

Hope this help
