D50 lense

Im going to get round to buying a D50 in the next few days but im not too keen on buying it with the 18-55 kit lense. Which lense could i get instead for under £200?

18-70mm f3.5-4.5? If you get it with the camera, you should get a good deal.

Apparently you won't get much better than that (for a starter lens), and you definitely want something wide at the bottom end, or you'll be left wanting, esp. for landscapes.

It's the lens I'm using to begin with, and it's quite good really.

Yeah the wideness of the lens is pretty good, well good enough to get the stretched effect at the edges.
Why don't you buy a Sigma 70-300mm APO Macro for £120ish? Look on a popular auction site.

The 18 - 70mm can be had for as little as £179 on a good specialised e-tailer site. To give you clue, it doesnt look like anything special, but they have excelent service and good prices.

Great camera, good choice.
