D500 Query

Hi all,

Jusr been given my brothers D500 to replace my crappy old V620. All is working OK except one thing.

I was given a USB data cable from someone at work but I can't get it to charge the phone. When I plug it in I starts to charge for 5-6 seconds, then comes up with "USB Charging not available".

Any ideas? Is it the Cable?

USB port doesn't put out enough power.

Some motherboard manufacturers aren't fully compliant with the USB 1.1 spec in terms of supplying power to the hardware, it's the same thing that can cause problems with USB modems and other devices that take power from the USB port.

If you have a powered USB hub, you should find you can charge it via that.
