Will be used with other lenses but as I only have it on loan the lens should be able to show how good the body can be , will do some testing with primes as well but the zoom is supposed to be sharp.
Ours will be used in time lapse over months to take pictures of grain creep in metals at high temperatures , so moire should not be an issue. Pictures next week
one day with the 800e
Most impressed with its low light ability, very little noise compared to a d300
Focusing is very critical missed a few shots due to the wrong focus point.
Has a tilt sensor built in ( found it in the menu but not hot to use it in practice)
Need to find out how the hdr mode works .
Detail and colour depth is outstanding.
Even stills from the video are impressive.
Not been dissapointed with the 28-300 once stopped down a bit
( iso 2000 is useable but so is 6400 ! )
Any questions just ask .
Have a d300 so only have dx lenses apart from a1.8 50mm
The camera is on trial and the lens was in the offer
Just waiting for it to stop raining and to find a spare £5000
For the body and a couple of lenses .
Just about to say the same thing , but I would have said 2 1/2 stops better
resizing the image down makes shots of iso 6400 clean . will have some more time to play over the weekend .
here we go , to help you decide hand held 1 / 125 f5.6 iso 100 28-300 vr ( and the second image has lost some detail in conversion as not 100% size or jpg ! )
Another day with camera, wishing I could keep it now , found out how to change focusing mode after missing some shots due to spot focusing. my nose changes the focus point if it was not locked. Will try some raw and hdr next if it stops raining this week.
Just done a video comparison to a canon 7d, panasonic gh2 and a sony nex fs100 video camera .
D800 won , will put up some stills in the next few days. could not force moire under any conditions.
. Video comparison
Nice vid showing video detail not mine
