D945GCLF2 (Intel Atom 330) -does it have svideo?

cheers pal :)

not sure which to get, the Intel or the Jetway JNC91-330-LF

the Jetway uses proper heatsink mounting holes which warms me to that board a little more.. -easier to replace heatsink and have a slow slim 80mm fan instead

wish they'd do away with the parallel and serial ports on these

Tell me about it! Total waste of space! :(

TBH it runs so cool that the stock heatsinks with a larger low rpm fan should be absolutely fine.

I just like the bog simple intel 'business like' approach - it has just worked A-OK since day one. :D

Intel's fly creek itx board is far better specced I/O wise:

Granted no svhs but that HDMI port and the 6 USB ports are worth their weight. :)

hmm..

i really fancy an atom, mainly for a download/always on box/server, but that 775 board looks tasty

another question for you.

does the ICH7 support AHCI? or would i need a seperate pci esata card if i wanted to hotplug a hard drive to the F2?

Yeah the fly creek's good but it does use around 5-10w more when idling (50w) and up to 20w more than the atom at full load (65w). Also costs a fair chunk more too.

That said with an e7200 and 4gb of DDR2 installed it ran vista incredibly well and plays back full 1080p effortlessly.

For an 'always on' box the atom's awesome. Very cool running and wonderful stability.

As for the ICH7 question i really would have no clue. Never used that aspect of its functionality, sorry. :(

cool

think i'll go for the atom anyway, i plan to get a 90w picopsu and make a case for it :)

Nice!

Make sure to post pics... would be very interested in seeing the case! :)

As for the pico psu's - they're great. Next to no heat output and totally silent. I have a 120w version running off a 102w brick running my fly creek. Seems to cope with it very well.
