Hi All

I'm trying to find a nice small DAB radio to put in my kitchen, nice and easy you'd think except I'd like it to also have an aux input so I can hook up my mp3 player (I don't have an ipod, so an ipod dock won't be suitable) to listen to music through it too.

I also don't want to spend very much money (not really sure what amount as I've yet to find anything suitable) but don't want it to sound terrible either...

Anyone got any suggestions?

I haven't seen any with the aux cables on a small unit. Just usually is the single output jack.

As far as DAB radios themselves go I'd recommend having a look at the Pure products.

This is the problem I'm having I think, I do wonder if there are any msll DAB units that have an aux in.

I've seen plenty with Ipod docks etc but I just want a simple 3.5mm stereo jack input which I have yet to see except on some larger more expensive units.

I bought the missus a Pure EVOKE-1S for her birthday. Works really well, sound is brilliant for the size, and it has the 3.5 mm aux input you are looking for. However it depends on what you class as not very much money. They cost around £100 new.

I have the Dualit Kitchen Radio. It is really good. Cost me £150. Sounds excellent and has a 3.5 mm Jack AUX intput. It also has an analog and digital output. As well as a rechargeable battery inside. I would recommend it.

Although not DAB, another interesting option could be the o2 Joggler? Touchscreen interface, internet radio, USB in (if your MP3 does USB). o2 have just brought the price back down to £50 as far as I know and the potential is there for it to be a really useful piece of kit in the kitchen. There is a thread about the joggler on the forums if you have a look around.

that sounds like it might be quite good, I'll have to have a look at it

Any idea what the sound quality is like from it? (obviously won't be amazing but is it's good enough to listen while cooking that'd be great.

It does have the ability to output to speakers/amp. The internal speaker is ok but I would recommend adding some nice speakers to it in time.
