I want a DAB radio for work. In the week somebody bought me their Intempo to try and it was awful. On wednesday I purchased a Pure Evoke 2 knowing I could take it back and tried it out on thursday at work. It was way better than the Intempo but the signal quality was only around 75% and every now and then you'd see a big drop and then back up to 75%. There was a lot of break up in the transmission which didn't make any of the channels listenable for too long.
I took it to another part of the factory where the lads had it on for the rest of the day and they had a mixture of Planet Rock, Virgin Radio on etc but Radio 1 & 2 were unlistenable. They were quite impressed but I noticed their signal strength was only around 75% but with no break ups.

My question - if I bought the Pure Evoke 3 which I really want, could I put a better aeriel on it which would take the signal from 75% to nearly 100%.
Would a booster help or would I be amplifying rubbish?
Also would bad weather make the signal poor again?
Any advice appreciated.

Thought i'd answer as no-one else has yet. Firstly I doubt the DAB radio you are talking about has a connection for a proper aerial connection. A booster won't help. If you do have a connection for an aerial then you could just get a simple DAB dibole and place it outside somewhere. Fix it vertically and it will be omni directional, then run a 75ohm cable to the radio for mucho improved reception.

It does take another aeriel.
I was hoping that attaching a DAB dipole aeriel would be enough to get a much better signal quality.
Theres no way I can get it outside.
