I'm looking to get a DAC/AMP for my Sennheiser HD6XX (mostly used for PC Gaming / Metal Music). In my current PC Ive been going through a Focusrite Scarlett Solo (1st gen) mainly for convenience/laziness because I used to play guitar through it (but haven't for years), so planning to get rid of that with the new PC build I'm planning (Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX motherboard) & I thought it might be a good time to try a DAC/AMP but I've become overwhelmed with all the choices out there.

Ive been looking at the FiiO K5Pro, FULLA 3e, Fosi Audio Q4 Mini & the JDS Atom stack, but I'm completely out of my element with this stuff, can anyone help/recommend?

I can't really recommend something off the top of my head but if 600 or 650 they benefit from decent voltage specs - a lot of amps are designed for current hungry headphones and don't get the best out of the 6XX series. They also can take advantage of a balanced setup.

iFi Audio ZEN DAC V2 looks like a decent bit of kit but voltage specs seem similar to my Creative AE-5 - which does drive my 600s fairly well but doesn't quite get the best out of them. Without trying it can't be sure how it would perform with them though.

Thanks for posting @Choimaloy75 I had come across the Schitt brand before starting this topic (they look great) but I ruled them out as they are a little too pricey for my first step into the DAC/AMP world :p

After seeing the feedback from the other posts here I did a deeper dive into the iFi Audio ZEN DAC V2 (read some reviews/watched some youtube) & they were all solid (with quite a few mentioning them pairing well with the HD6xx) so I took the plunge and placed an order this morning :D

Thanks again to everyone who posted :)

Sorry for the dumb question but does the balanced port on the back work the same way as the front? (I prefer cables going out the back for a cleaner look) & tbh I don't even know the difference (other than width) of the 2 on the front xD

The port on the back will be balanced line level meant for feeding another amp or powered speakers, so not suitable for headphones
