OK, bear with me on this as I don't know much about the subject.

I have a pair of Bluetooth headphones which cost about £120. They sound pretty great to me when playing lossless audio on Amazon Music Unlimited.

I need a microphone because I can't use the microphone on my laptop for making videos for YouTube. So I thought I could get a dedicated microphone to go along with my Bluetooth headphones. Then I thought if I got an XLR microphone with a DAC, I could get decent voice quality for YouTube and be open to getting an excellent quality wired pair of headphones when I have the money available.

So do I get a USB microphone or a DAC and an XLR microphone?

While some DACs have a mic in if you are after something a bit higher quality it is an audio ADC you want.

There are a bunch of reasonable priced USB microphones which are an excellent starting point however.
