DAC Upgrade?

I've been using a Fubar ii dac with iCute amp for a couple of years with a pair of DT990 Pros (250ohm). The fubar is based on pcm2702 which isn't the newest of the bunch.

Contemplating the dragonfly black or the DacMagic XS 2.... Firstly worried about them being able to drive my DT990s and secondly, would it really be an improvement?

Had a dacmagic xs (original not a 2 ?) from Richer sounds when they had a like it or return it deal, I returned it since it sounded very bright and I could only live with it if I put a device level graphic equalizer into the chain running on the tablet/laptop, it was to replace an older echo audio indigo soundcard , I concluded nothing to be ashamed of with an older dac or older design (old meridian gear still sounds good!)
dacmagic also using a lot of power (reducing autonomy of the tablet I wanted to use mobile) so a dac with a built in supply would be better, and as you suggest may not be able to drive your headphones either.

Eventually bought a pair of mee matrix2 bluetooth headphones I could drive directly from tablet/pc and they sound fine to me
