Dad after a new 42" HDTV

He came into some money and is after a 42" HD Plasma. Any recommendations? Im looking at a few now but am not sure whats better whats not etc..

42" will be perfect we got a big living room

its got a pool table down the end not full size but is plenty big enough for practice! and sofas n chairs in

He's got weekend off so is gonna look through them all then and make his mind up

Id say from where the tv is now to the sofa about 10 upto 14ft probs further not too sure tbh!

£1800 is a bit out of range tbh they wont go that high dad *** but mum wont

Id proberly just tell them to get the hitatchi thing as posted above they seem great tv's and im gonna get my self the 32" one
