I’m in the process of building dad a new pc. I’m using a gigabyte B250M-DS3H board and I’m air cooling. I’m using his existing Corsair non-modular PSU. Just using the intel gpu. He has a DVD drive, 2 HDDs and an SSD. I have an Aerocool CS100 case spare but the problem is that it’s pretty small and the non modular psu makes it a squeeze to get everything in without seriously compromising airflow. So I’m looking for something a bit more suitable hopefully around the £60 mark. The only other criteria is that it must be no more than 41cm tall so it can fit under his shelf. Any recommendations?

very hard to find a case that meets that requirement, not much on oc uk as dvd bays are going obsolete . theres an inwin case on offer, do you really need a dvd bay?

also have a look at cube cases, you will have to source these 2 antecs from elsewhere as they are no longer in stock at ocuk.

look for ,
Antec P50
Antec ISK-600m

Yeah. He still wants his DVD drive. He's got various bits of photo software on discs. I'm not sure on a cube case. With it being wider than a tower it's more likely to get kicked as it'll be under his desk. I've double checked the dimensions and it looks like he'll JUST be able to get away with the Corsair 100R. (I'll get him to double check he measurements.) What's the general opinion of this one?

How about a usb based dvd drive? I have 3 and no less reliable than a fixed version.

gets a bit of a negative review, sure its fine though. heres another couple, the NZXT is on offer and includes OCUK sound proofing, i bought one for an office pc , its a very old design but compact, note it has no 2.5" bay so you would need to get an 2.5 to 3.5 adaptor, BEquiet bit more expensive but a good case
