Oddly enough, they're crane flys. These are real daddy long legs, but I guess the fact they look similar causes the confusion, and is why the name is associated with the others.

Edit OKAY one of the links i supplied showed one next to a teacup...

and i still think the toxin is poisonous to humans.its just you probably need more than one spiders venom.(they are tiny when you pull the legs off)

If you say theres no scientific proof that this isnt true.Please, are you a scientist that studies spiders venom?Or is there nothing around at hand to support this?

There is no evidence at all to support either way. Tbh a lot of things if introduced into the blood stream can be poisonous

I hate daddy long legs, its the way they sorta bounce about when they fly with their legs all over the shop, was a one in the bog the other day, i told it to stay over the other side as i would have done a runner in mid stream if it started coming towards me, but did it listen, did it hell, i ended up ******* up the wall, and all over the floor as i made a run for it, and mysell

20 inch fan. It's full of insects right now (need to take it apart and remove them). Just occasionaly it spits out decapitated bits of insect though which isn't quite so clever.

I mowed the lawn the other day for the first time in a while & there was absolutely loads of them :eek:

Next door's kitten certainly seems to have fun hunting them!

I have a hollow plastic pipe here, it is very light and moves very quickly so you can hit them in mid air with it.

I shot a fly with that thing once, boy was that a mess. Didn't know a fly could split into so many parts :eek:

. (The LEGO gun, not crossbow, is a pneumatic system powered gun firing a 1mm piece of electrical wire at over 100mph BTW)
