I had to smile at the article in the Daily Fail today.

Veterans aged up to 65 to be recalled to serve as Russia threat grows

Ageing former soldiers are to be recalled in a desperate bid to prepare Britain for possible war against Russia. Veterans as old as 65 will return due to threat of conflict with Kremlin.

I can say I along with half the road are armed to the teeth and all ready to defend this country again.
I have 2 garden hoes -3 forks -2 spades -couple of machets - and if I asked around horse poo for grenades.

For close up fighting i have a few garden knives -6 trowels and plant string for booby traps. - Weed killer and sugar for explosives.
Bring them on.
If it happen's then we might just as well take a overdose as this country is doomed no matter what.

At school we had the Combined cadet force CCF this was in the nineteen sixties. We had an armoury of Lee Enfield .303 mostly bored down to take .22 for use on our 25 yard range. We did have .303 blanks for exercises and some parade functions. It is quite a long time ago now but i still remember the smell of cordite in the morning.

Most of the teaching staff had served in the second world war or had done national service. My house master was a captain, metalwork a squadron leader, PE an army corporal etc., etc.

We don't stand a chance do we - Can you imagine having a 303 in school nowadays.
We would have a lockdown on a spud gun.
