I have got my dads new PC built - had a few problems with continous restarts at BIOS level with memory problems, one of the sticks appeared bad and would not work on its own in any port - maybe I didnt have it sitting right but iam certain I did - I re-inserted them both and its working now...very strange...

Iam just busy updating everything at the moment, I have set the XMP for memory in BIOS so its 1600mhz...

so far everything looks fine.. 31'c (CPU) in BIOS ...same for GPU

this PC is ultra quiet... theres no sound whatsoever and if it wasnt for blue light you would think it was off - we were astounded.. the cheap 90mm case fan is loud however so its off until we can buy a decent 120mm fan for the back of case to suck air out - the gellid, XFX 550 Pro and GTX460N are ultra-quiet..

anyway....

after I have updated and installed everything I will be overclocking it and need to know which is the best burn-in software to use and whats best for temp monitoring..

thanks

For CPU burn-in use Prime95 or Intel Burn Test, the latter is more intensive on the CPU and for me raised the core temp by 5C more than Prime95. For temperatures use Real Temp or I use SpeedFan.

For basic stress testing prime 95 - between 6 and 24 hrs depends how thorough you want to be (IBT is great for a quick assessment - approx 20 passes/runs).

For monitoring the temps i use - Core Temp.

Have real temp and core temp synchronised now? Been a long time since I tried them but I recall that one gave readings 10c lower than the other!

That would have been a revision issue - apps sometimes need upgrading to recognise new hardware correctly.

Always check for new versions/releases with new hardware.
