Dads pc wont power down?

hey it wont power down...

looked in power options and i dont see anything.

also.

i go to

Start>Shutdown>Shutdown, and nothing!

What happens if you try to force a shutdown from a command prompt?

(get a command prompt up and just enter 'shutdown now')

My guess is some service or rogue app is causing Windows to fark during the shutdown process, as opposed to it being anything hardware related.

hmm, is it a constant problem or just happening once?

if its the first time just do a restart with the button on your case.

itll just be windows being, well.... windows.

constant problem.....will try the shutdown now tomorrow

If you have just installed new hardware then if it is still running try disabling it then shutdown.
