It's only 4x bandwidth, think it would work, but not to its full potential.

apparently a 10% drop in performance over 16x PCi-e. Can't remember where I read it tho. but it was a benchie

Thanks guys - think i'll experiment with card in the motherboard and if is stupidly bad i'll get a new motherboard.

Looks like a new mainboard is needed though you could get the GTS now and then change the mainboard later.

It's officially supported in the second post, it will just run slower

Thanks guys - now i more confused. Think i'll try and do some more research before deciding. I'll have to get new PSU when getting new card anyway so extra pennies on motherboard would probably be more sensible otherwise i guess i might as well stick to 6800 card i have at moment.
