Daft question Time HD Caddy's

I got HD caddies, the fans are driving me mad by the noise, I was going to block them with Blu-Tac to stop them turning, does this cause any voltage pressure on the fan motor or back to the mainboard on the back of the caddy causing failure? I post this here because its a cooling measure of crap sorts for the caddie?

PS I dont have a clue about this kind of stuff when come to hardware for this type of equipment....

Can you not just not hook them up to the power? Or is that the only way to get power to the HDDs themselves?

What caddies ? Hot swap or cooling devices ?
What drives ? What interface ? Speed ?

More info needed... no good stopping the fans if its a hot swap enclosed 15k SCSI drive now is it ?

IDE Hot Swap with on-board fan, thought about bypass, wasnt sure if it was practiable or not....

open the caddie up and cut the wires, job done.

you obviously can open the caddies if you are to put drives in them, im sure you can do that
