Today's piece of potential Daily Mail genius comes from an article about Golden Eagles taking lambs on the Isle of Mull

Conservationists – who have not seen such direct evidence as this before – say the birds target only dead or weak animals. It is unclear whether the lamb was still alive in this photograph.

It was taken by a bird-watcher who does not want to be named as he fears that could identify the location of the eagles’ nests, and put the birds at risk from angry hill farmers.

The copyright in the corner of the photo gives a name. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if that's the name of the bird watcher...

I wouldn't be completely surprised either if they've managed to mess it up.

However I'm not sure how or why the original story constitutes news really as it stands, a big bird of prey takes prey... What do they expect to happen with birds of prey and possible prey?

is't J heartly on loads of photos in loads of papers?

I'm sure i've seen it on loads of articles about different things

Oh look, another OCUK forum member in a "I'm more clever than the media" thread. Good to see this one's been quashed.

You forget how large these birds can grow. Whilst I can understand the farmers getting annoyed they are pretty awesome looking.
