My Google Pixel 8 arrived this week and I specified that I didn't want to use eSIM and wanted to continue using my current SIM card. But ever since setting the phone up, I've been receiving daily notifications from "SIM Manager" asking me to setup an eSIM.
I have contacted O2 who have said that there isn't an eSIM setup on my account and confirm that I'm using a physical SIM card. To get rid of the message, O2 are suggesting that I temporarily activate an eSIM for a day or two then they can deactivate it and reactivate my physical SIM. So in theory, no eSIM, back to my physical SIM and the messages stop - but I'm sceptical and therefore reluctant.
I have tried to delete the eSIM, however it doesn't show in my list of SIMs. I can't see "SIM Manager" listed in Settings > Notification > App notifications or Notification history, so cannot disable the notifications. I also can't see the "SIM Manager" installed in my installed apps or Play Store to disable it.
Has anybody experienced this before? Googling doesn't reveal a great deal.
