Dakar Rally 2010

Id love to do the Dakar one day :D

I bet it costs a poo load just to enter though :p :(

Ill try catch a few stages when they are on :)
 
I'll be watching this. As far as rallying is concerned, I see this as easily being the most challenging rally to participate in. Lets see if Eurosport can screw up the scheduling times again this year and over-run with snooker or something equally pointless.

Curiously I was bored with the TV over Christmas and have just finished watching 'Race to Dakar' with Charley Boorman. Even if you don't like him, it gives an amazing insight into how hard it is.
 
Nothing like getting a fatality sorted on the first day of the event. My wife and I were discussing it yesterday as to whether the event would escape any fatalities this year - clearly not!
 
Damn must have been a nasty accident, others were injured as well as the person who died, it's a shame they put themselves in danger by not using the spectator areas set out for them.

How come there's been no bumpage with the rally results.. It was a bit nail-biting for the cars towards the end between the top VW's.

It's a pity that Despres is a cheese-eating surrender monkey otherwise it would have a been a good fight on the bikes too.
