Dali Oberon 5

Hi all,

Looking to replace some book shelf diamond 10s with some Dali Oberon 5 floor standers and a Dali vokal centre speaker.
Will be running off a Sony 1040 receiver.

I have some Dali spektor 1s in the bedroom and think they are decent speakers, look and sound great.
The Oberon 5s seem highly recommended and rated.

Anything else I should possibly consider though?
 
I personally purchased the Dali Oberon 5's a few weeks ago to go with my existing Spektor Vokal centre. Wow what a difference having such a better set of front speakers make. Admittedly i was coming from Cambridge Minx Min10.
Rear surround are still Cambridge Minx Min10. All running off a Denon AVR-X1400H.

Anything else I should possibly consider though?

Perhaps an alternative set might be the Q Acoustics 3050i floorstanders with the Q Acoustics 3090Ci centre.

 
Yeah, bang for buck and size they seem great on paper. I did look at the higher price ones, but don't think I'll gain anything, my living room isn't massive!

Good to hear people rate them on here too.

Will look at the Qs, cheers.

I'll keep my diamonds at the rear.

Maybe I'll upgrade the receiver in the future, but the only thing I miss on this 1040 is WiFi connectivity, so that would be my only gain on an upgrade.
 
I've got maaaany Dali's in my setup. They're great but not the most forward or mid rang energised speakers.

If you really love metal, hip hop, drum n bass and that kind of thing you might be better served by something more aggressive. Dynaudio comes to mind.
