dam wifi- help a stressed out man! plz

hi I have a cable& wireless dsl router set up using wpa I have a working net connection and my Wii connetcs to the router fine via WPA

why wont my pc connect using the same WPA settings?

I get aquiring network address and then nowt

it works when unsecured !

please stop me pulling my hair out :)
 
Most likely you have something wrong on the PC.

Confirm the settings and make sure you enter them correctly. Double check your not using caps lock e.t.c.
 
This might help. If you have installed any drivers on the pc for wireless, but still have wireless zero config enabled in services, then dissable it and uninstall the driver, then reboot. Install the driver, it should work.
 
checked you haven't got a choice between WPA using TKIP and WPA using AES - both devices set to use the same?
 
What OS are you using.

I have had this sort of thing in the past and the only way to fix it on XP was to go into the wireless network settings on the XP machine remove the network from the prefered list and then manually create a new network using the SSID etc.

Give that a try
 
Ignore, i skimmed it too quick...

on 2nd thought's, someone already mentioned there are a few WPA options, TKIP, OPN etc... sure it's set to the same on client and router?
