Damage - how was it done?

I dont see how that would be, I can only think of some reaction with the paintwork prehaps but Ive used it on rust spots myself and not noticed any harm
and I left it months before actually repairing the bodywork properly.

Its no worse then spilling petrol on your car as you fill up imo
