Damage on 2x new MacBooks

Hi all

Wondering if anyone has had this before.


I’ve just bought:

1x 15 inch MBA
1x 14 inch MBP


To try as I wasn’t sure which display size would be best vs performance of air vs pro.



I have JUST taken them out the packaging, and there is damage to both devices.


They’re only small, thin scratches, but it’s on both devices.



Has anyone had this before? It doesn’t rub off with IPA - I tried.

I'd not be happy with that.
I don't mind the premium you pay on Apple products, but part of that premium is on design/materials, so for me it's "shiny out of the box" or it's going back

I agree, and it will be but just interested to know if anybody else has seen this before.
 
As has been mentioned no way that is commensurate with the usual Apple quality standards and given the price it's unacceptable. I would be returning those in a heartbeat.
 
Yeah, I’d use it as an opportunity to test then return both as I’ve never had anything other than pristine kit from Apple! Did you order them direct from Apple themselves or via a reseller?

I’d be interested to know which size/model you prefer between the two incidentally seeing as you have both sitting in front of you !
