Dame Vera Lynn RIP

I had actually never heard of her until the start of the lock down when they started playing the song.
Not sure I think of someone at that age passing as sad, it should be celebrated as not many of us will be that lucky. Regardless, 103 is some milestone to hit and it looks like she lived a full and happy life. We can't ask for much more than that when the curtains come down.
 
Bit shocked actually, she looked very well just a short time ago for the ripe old age of 103!

Indeed - what a life, remembered well by many :)

Not doubting that, I've heard a lot about her the last few months. Just I wasn't aware of who she was prior, is all. I'm very clearly in the minority though as when I said it to my partner she looked bemused and said all the oldies love her.

If I could live half the life she did I'd be very happy, which says it all really. A life well lived.
 
I just saw this on the news.

Very sad. It as hit me more emotionally than I thought it would have.

My grandad was in the war and he would regularly bring up her name and had her songs on cassette.

It feels like the end of an era.
