damn aol wont connect

im currently on tiscali and ive just reinstalled windows and as my gf is on aol i always install aol so she can use it on my pc when she's at my house.problem is aol wont connect!!keeps saying my firewall is blocking it even though ive told my mcafee firewall to allow all the aol programmes and even tried turning the firewall off it still wont connect!!always does this after i reinstall windows

any ideas?
 
Could it be the Windows firewall blocking it? Have a look in exceptions and see if AOL is there.

Just a guess.

i have a proper isp,if you had read my initial post its my gf who is on aol :p
you always get one ****** who has to post something stupid without being helpfull
 
Im :confused: thats right about not being able to connect to AOL at your house, you have Tiscali. :confused:

Nowt wrong with AOL im on their 2mb Gold here.

yes i have tiscali but i have aol9 installed on my pc and you can open aol and get on to it using your regular isp,i know this cos i have done it in the past but its always a mega pain getting it too work.it always just says it is being blocked by my firewall even when i have it turned off,is totally maddening
 
well thats what i had to do when i wanted to view my tiscali mail on her aol but how do i load aol up fully on firefox??she wants full features like chat ect.it used to work before i had to reinstall windows.everytime ive reinstalled windows it takes ages to get working.my windows disc is sp1 so i have to download sp2 ect and then aol.it used to do same with norton as it does with mcafee
