Just ripped a CD to my computer that my boet lent me. Windows Medial Player 11, copied it to the Hard Drive. Got the names of the songs on cd, the year of the album, artist ect. Then also got the front cover off the internet and put it into my music, in a folder view like I have it.

Saved me 30 minutes of work!

Impressed!

Indeed, 30mins

Just about every ripping program can get info from the net, although it being able to do album artwork is pretty good :)

WMP11 is great. Absolutely love it compared to the older versions. In fact, I've even replaced Winamp with it :D

<3 WMP11.

I don't understand. You ripped a CD? Lots of things do that.

While that is true. WMP put it into my folder art like I wanted it. Named all tracks and got front album cover all in seconds. Plus there are a lot of other things I love about WMP11. ;)

iTunes has been doing that for years...

i think my earliest memory of an app ripping cds and getting tags off the net would have have been real jukebox back in 99. i don't think the wmp (6.4 possibly?) of the day back came anywhere close in functionality. not that i endorse real - they're a big pile of steaming crap nowadays. :D

WMP 11 Beta doesn't play radio stations... it got uninstalled for now.

--Edit--
Just upgraded it from WMP10 again and it supports radio now :D

i just threw up :(

EAC to rip, high quality vbr mp3 -ranges from 32kb/s to 320kb/s for optimum filesize

Winamp + CD Art Display plugin (formerly winamp cd case), gets the picture from amazon and calls it 'folder' in the song folder -gets them automatically for anything without one

:)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but WMP has been doing that quite a few versions ago, provided your connected to the internet

I think they should have put some nice new visualizations in WMP11!

The graphics on the originals aren't the best in the world... they could make them look so much better.

It looks like the resolution of them is about 320x240 as well, I don't know why microsoft think we have qvga screens.

Yep, they're nice and 'blocky' :p

They should put visualizations using the graphics they use for the screensavers in Vista.
