hi all agian im still haveing probs with me bleeding xbox 360 the dvd is so noisey and i get stuttering through the intro of tony hawks projects 8 right when i here the dvd drive reading from disk is this normal it sounds kinda loud?.

i get the "dirty disk error" when sometimes waiting for a multiplayer map to load, i guess it happens sometimes atleast be happy it hasnt scratched your disk ;)

Does exactly the same to me, mines is even quite loud when not reading. Altough is sitting on my desk. Tony hawks stutters at beginning of mine as well so nothing to worry about ;)

thanks all.

this may sound silly but lets be honest here

all these probs with xbox 360 makes people parinoide (well me any way) as i aint made of money and cant go wasting money on junk (not that it is) i just want to know if its packing up now or i have a faulty one befor its to late to return to shop i got mine monday 1st jan 2007 so have some time yet to get a new one if req.

whats the latest shops will give new ones out till i have to phone M.S?.

technically they should up until the warranty runs out.

Shop i got mine in says years warranty with all console expect psp which after 6months you have to contact sony( but imo sony are amazing for that sort of thing, psp broke, new one out next day no receipt or anything. :p 0

You should have a year warrenty with it mate, so keep all the packaging, the box, the receipt all safe, and don't worry about anything for a year. When the year is up however you should look at getting an extended warrenty, something I might have to do aswel but mines only a month old yet :)

if you return it to MS (which is excellent, phone them up, they take your details and send the courier to you) you don't need proof of purchase, the original packaging e.t.c. Infact they ask you specifically not to send it back in an xbox box, and to send it back in a plain box.

I think I'm a bit of an expert now on the MS support, I just sent of (as of today) my 3rd xbox, and am awaiting delivery of my fourth. Even though I got mine at launch and the years warrenty being expired, they were happy to do so. Though i do think the warrent comes from the first console purchase date, and not the console created date on the back of the xbox.

Whilst they've still got reliability problems they would be mad to say "sorry 13 months old... tough boobies" Personally they wouldn't be seeing any of my cash again and I'd be twiddling my thumbs waiting for a PS3.

Technically by buying a 360, you're COSTING them money. Each machine is built at cost ;)

As far as reliability goes, the PS3 will be no different (indeed the same can be said for all bleeding-edge consoles)

True but they would be getting no slice of the 70 odd + games I'm likely to buy over the time I'd own the console :)

how on earth would i cost them money byeing an xbox 360 mr bill wont be doing it for charity???????
your right in a way you arent costing them money, but they are making a loss on each xbox 360 they produce and then sell to retailers or consumers. so in a way the consumer is costing them money.

im sorry you have all lost me totaly?????

why would M.S sell somthing at a loss? its human nature to make money and bad business to do so any way.

so they have made no money with all the xboxes they have sold so far then? there in dept?.

well sort of afaik, but the accessories and the games make up a profit of sorts, the whole reason MS sold the console this cheap is to get the fanbase built up, as by the time PS3 came out most people wouldnt really bother with a PS3 or so they'd hope.

they make the real money back in their games, the have a pretty risk business model, but i guess with the experience of the previous xbox, it must be working!

p.s. when are you gonna post lots of pics of 360 on the hanns g for me and others to see!!!! :D

ahhhh ok so games, controlers, wifi dongle etc are the bread and butter as such.
so they sell em at cost price or just a tad under?.

realy cant see them doing this tho its M.S :D

dont worry my good man aint forgot as i promised so i will just having a few probs at mo but that should be for the genaral disscussions forum :p
