various people i speak to over the net and in real life will know of my Dane Cook obsession. he's an absolutely hilarious American comedian. there are a couple of people i know who listen to him/watch him and can vouch for this, so all of you get on a digital media website and buy one of this guy's live shows. if you dont find him funny, i'll buy the DVD off you because i only have his CDs...that's how sure i am that you're going to love him!!

complete your lives. he's on myspace...and his name is very unimaginitive but i cant link it because his profile contains swearing :)

I'll give him a try I guess. What type of comedy?

it's kinda, social observation i guess you'd call it. he just comments on all kinds of stuff...i think you'd definitely like him mate. a lot of people have never heard of him, but he's very clever...he just doesnt act it! ;) he's got a LOT of energy too. anyone who reads this and is in to comedy should definitely check him out...like i said, i've forced OvertoneBliss and Mohinder to listen to him and i havent been wrong :)

Well he's American, so it's bound to be dry, boring, observational skits.

Although that covers Brit comics nowadays, sadly.

What happened to all the "gag" comics?

i've got an idea...why dont you listen to it, then pass judgement, mkheh? or, just dont and dont post. either way is good with me.

if you like boring predictable gags, try Jimmy Carr...he's completely unfunny, you'll probably love him.

kthxbye

Bill Bailey for the win.

you dont know what you're talking about. bailey just stands there saying random things and singing songs with political words. he's not funny, he just says stupid random things. seriously, check Dane Cook out and you'll be like "Bill who?"

First time I saw bewilderness, it had my in fits of laughter at certain things. But lacks the consistency of laughter you could get from peter kay, lee evans. After a while I wasn't in tears with laughter, but peter kay's dvd's have me going everytime i watch them.

Will have a think about it, but spending money is a big nono this week :o

well, like i said, when you come to buy it, if you dont like it i'll buy it off you for the exact price you paid :)

There are very few comedians I actually like. The only comedy act that I've actually been to see live, because I like him so much is Stewart Lee (though not many people have heard of him). I've seen him at least 6 times live and think he's fantastic. His humour is so dry and he has us in stitches every time. A lot of people can't stand him though, because it's not your traditional "cheap gags" comedy.

Anyway, might have a look around for a CD/DVD with this Dane Cook on. Worth a try :)

it's really hard to explain what he's like, Mohinder did it pretty well. maybe just something for the next time you're in the mood for a comedian.

Was I the only one expecting a bacon-based thread?

was i the only one expecting someone to come out with that hilarious comment?

Sic, back down with the aggresiveness a bit, will ya? There's no need to say everyone will like your favourite comedian, and then completely bash other peoples (Yes, I happen to be a big fan of Jimmy Carr).

LostKat, could you either post the link or e-mail it to me? I would like to have a listen before I spend some cash :) I'm always looking for "new" comedians - I love comedy :D
