I've just moved home and the local council has said that running cables and drilling holes into the wall to run ethernet cables and any other cables is not allowed.
The local cable company has therefore had to stick a wireless connection in...this is where the problems started.
I'm running windows 7 with a crosshair formula 4 asus mobo.
The first thing i tired was a belkin F6D4050 wireless dongle USB peice of ****. Windows recognised it...but flat out REFUSES to enable it...it simply will not enable. My windows XP based laptop is however able to use it.
Next, i bought an Atheros AR928X NIC card...windows recognised it, and i updated the driver to the latest version. However when i try and connect windows says that "No connections are available".
2 different tries to connect, and two failures.
The router is a D-Link N300 DIR-615
Both XP machines connect via the dongle, but the windows 7 machine wouldnt connect with either the dongle (windows wont enable it) or the wireless NIC card (no connection found).
Can anyone help?
