i've had the Swiftec WC kit for a while now but im going to upgrade it , got a new PA Sereis 120x3 Rad to place on top of an old Cheftec case ive moded ( change the intakes from 3x80mm fans to 2x120mm fans) .

anyway i'me going to cool the x1900xt aswell as my athlon x2 , but becuse i run my pump low to keep the noise down not sure which gpu block to get as the water dose have the travel quite high beucse the rad being on top of the cheftec big tower case , what block would you use the Danger Den maze4 normal or lowprofile of the Swiftech , i don't plan to go crossfire any time soon.

i have the maze4 and it keeps my gpu cool, not sure how cool as the temp sensor is broken, however it doesn't complain. although i am using it with a high power pump as my low power one broke! tis a good solid block.

i got the maze 4 lp block because of the space between the 2 cards so if you thinking about buying the maze 4 buy the lp version

I went for the Aquaxtreme MP-1, as said all the blocks perform about the same, but in a review of the MP-1, Maze4 and Swiftech the MP-1 came out slightly on top (like half a degree). Given as its only £26 inc VAT and easily available I chose that one.

"We came into this comparison with the possible expectation of obtaining results that distanced the waterblocks from each other a little more than what we actually obtained. For those who like to squeeze the most performance out of their system possible then we would probably recommend the AquaXtreme MP-1 as the best waterblock. It provided the lowest delta T and while it provided the most restriction it performed as advertised by the manufacturer even with low flow. As for the regular users who have ventured to watercooling in an attempt get the most cooling possible but aren’t worried about small differences in delta T, then any one of these waterblocks is recommended. The prices for these blocks is about the same and their quality is equal. AquaXtreme, DangerDen and Swiftech all have winning GPU waterblocks here."

the Aquaxtreme MP-1 just looks like a maze 4 with a diff name

The innards are quite different:

I got two of the Aquaxtreme MP-1 blocks and they fit, just in a single slot Sli board. I have to modify the mounting kit for the lower cards block as otherwise the mounting bolts are too long. I will be using the kit from the AC Nvidia silencer thats currently sitting on that card as there are no springs. The backplate is actually the spring so it helps a lot when it comes to clearance.

Another good thing about the Aquaxtreme MP-1 is that it's £9 cheaper than the DD maze 4 blocks. :D

i read a review once and they all came out about the same, ( i think thats where Minsta got the pic form acctually) just stay away from the silver prop blocks, theyre known for the worst mounting hardware !
Got a Maze 4 LP here, Very well made indeed

Just wondering if anyone here has EK GPU Blocks?? As they seem to be very nice from what I have seen on there webpage. Have emailed them to ask about the full covering blocks they do for the x1900 as there not in there shop at the moment.

If you are on about the EK-FCX1800 X1800/X1900 (1/2" or 3/8" Barbs) blocks then a UK online retailer has them up on their website for £42.59 each but listed as coming soon.

It's about time OCUK got a decent range of custom WC components. I think they are missing out on a potentially large market there.

I was thinking the same thoughts. If OcUK sold decent WC components I would have upgraded my Apex kit by now! Good job they don't for the credit cards sake!

Yep totally agree OCUK need to get some of the decent named watercooling stuff like Dangerden, Aquaxtreme etc. Would be nice if they did this before mid July as thats when I am buying all my WC parts :D

yeah, sales would realy boom if they stocked stuff like that.

hm, how about pre-drilled cases? ie. g70 with 120.3 mounts already there. :)
