I don't quite get the difference between punishing and absolving?
I thought punishing gave you 'unholy' points and absolving gave you 'holy' points (the currency you use to upgrade abilities etc)?
During the demo, I never even realised there was a "holy path" of upgrades. You are right, sir.Just started this on the hardest initial difficulty (Hellish?). Struggling with the 1st enemy!!
Haven't noticed the energy bar increase, and the guy has beaten me about 7 times now (the Grim reaper looking guy). I can get him to about half energy, then he just evades everything I tryIt seems if you keep dieing, it will give you more health. I was very low and had to repeat the same battle five times but then it gave me a bit more juice and I was able to get past the monsters.

Ah, you need to get past this dude first. I decided to go for "normal" difficulty as there seemed to be no trophies to get for playing on anything harder.![]()

I am going to drop down a difficulty and see if it helps. Defeated 12 times on Hard difficulty, and annoyed now![]()
P.S. Don't forget to block! I totally forgot and lost half my health before I knew what was happening, then I remembered (old age setting in here) and started blocking and managed to kill the Grim Reaper most swiftly then.
