Dark patch on my U2412

Guys: what the hell is this? It manifested itself last night. A power cycle got rid of it initially but it's now permanent. In the last week, I've lost both of my computers and my house boiler. I don't fancy losing a monitor too!!

Is it led edge/back lit? Lookslike one of the led's has blown

Thanks. I've got some warranty left with Dell, so I'll give them a shout. I've worked in tech for years but this will be the first time I raise an RMA with Dell! (done Acer, Toshiba, HP, Epson, Canon, Olympus, Asus loads of times though).

I've got it as a refurb from someone at my work. 3 months old, but 3 year's warranty fortunately. These don't have a Dell service tag though, which hinders their tech support procedure, so the next thing I need to get after a service tag is the original Dell order number which I'm currently trying to obtain from the seller.

I hope it doesn't put you off. The colourspace is beautiful. Having my Samsung Galaxy S2 made my old G2410 look bland in comparison, so I wanted vibrance from a monitor that was closer to the SGS2 and I'm very happy with the output of this Dell U2412. (they say on OcUK here that the U2410 was a better monitor for colourspace though).
