Hi,

I've got a Samsung 5th 6400, it's got an area about the size of a coffee mug on the bottom of the screen about a quarter of the way in which is darker than the rest, it's only noticeable when the screen has a solid colour on it. It only annoys me when I use the TV as a monitor for my computer or watching football or golf.
The TV is still under warranty, is this something that I can get repaired or is it something all larger tvs suffer with?

Is it like smudged marks, i had a LG tv that started off circles then straight lines, i found out it was the backlight diffusers, i was out of warranty so just bought a plasma :)

Thanks for the replies, it does look like dirty screen effect. There is only the one area affected. Can this be claimed under warranty?

I am not sure k3v, it may be worth popping over to the avforums and having a look there - I think there is a dedicated owners thread for the Samsung h6400 where other owners can discuss these kinds of screen issues and warranty etc.

Just noticed I have this as well on my 55" version. It's in the top left about 4" from the edge a darker area. I have not noticed it before so imagine it has occurred recently.

Did you get anything sorted with yours ? I'm going to call Samsung tomorrow and see what they will do.

It's annoying but only visible on light screens. Moving around the room makes it appear worse if you look at the screen at an angle.

I will see what Samsung say tomorrow. I'm kind of nervous about replacements that might have other defects that are more annoying like dead pixels.
