Dark Sector For The PC??

Not being funny but wasn't this game announced for the PC aaaages ago, based on the UT engine? I remember being quite excited by the idea.

Then last year after the console version launched no news came through on the PC version until now. And even then its a russian only release at this time as apparently the developer has not managed to get a distribution deal for the other regions yet/if ever. Strange but presumably because the game is fun, but short and now a year later does not look as good anymore plus the gameplay is limited so will not be a huge seller anyway. Around 10 small levels and gears of war duck & run type combat.
 
Thinking about it but the Russian version has Starforce not sure if the Steam version has this and some are saying on the steam forums that the aspect ratios are messed up so 4:3 is 16:9 or 16:10 and some are getting overscan issues & squashed HUD because of this so really uncertain. Also if you have a PS3 or X360 this game is only £6.99 new now as it sold poorly so plenty of stock around still.
 
The game is out now.

"Apparently" it runs 60fps minimum and prompts to choose installing nVidia physx although an older version. The screenshots I have seen look excellent too but the gameplay itself looks like a skimmed down combination of GoW, Splinter Cell and some other TPS games.

Probably worth it for the killing and gore though :p

Are we allowed to post the screenshots so long as no mention of the source is said?

Its on steam apparently so screenies should be ok
 
Cool cool, will post them a bit later then. TBH though it's more like Gears than anything else, colours, style, details etc. The charcaters are slimmer though, must have less burger joints in this game :p
 
Nice game so far , the game ended up in a white window when i first loaded it on win7 i had to alt enter and wait 3mins lol. Didn't do it second time round!

I got stuck here , blew up the alarm and my character was stuck fast. He could walk but only in the same position lol

16XAF / 2XAA = 60FPS all the time

Make sure you SET af in driver control panel ;)
 
nice pics, it looks like Splinter Cell :CT ... would be great if it played the same way ... out of 10 , what would you give it ?

After 1hr of play 7/10 just because of that getting stuck bug lower score , though i need to play a lot more yet :D.
 
the controls in dead space and splinter cell etc feel way more polished than in this - still good game though
 
Just bought the EU Steam version downloading now. Starforce is only on the Russian version. I must be mad as I already have this game on PS3, X360 (both versions have terrible screen tearing as no vsync) and now PC:eek: as no other games I want to buy right now so for £14.99 willing to take a chance as I know this game is a reasonable looker even if it is a RE4/Gears Of War1 clone with a killer weapon called the Glaive. 10 Levels worth and at least 2 of the bosses are pretty cool fights. The weapon upgrade system is very lame however which you will see as you play it.
