Dark Souls Stuttering!!

I've got the game on Steam and it seems really good but it stutters a lot.

My rig is,

Intel 3570k @ stock
16GB 1600Mhz RAM
Radeon 7850 2GB GFX
3TB x 2 HDD Barracudas

I assume it's not my rig and just the bad porting as they didn't optimize it.

Does anyone know if there are any good ways of improving the smoothness though.

I'm playing in 1980x1020p.

I expect you're not, but are you using the 60fps mod, because that can cause some stuttering?

By vanilla do you mean with or without DSfix?

Vanilla means untouched just the stock game/item.

DSfix is basically required to play DS on PC without it being a giant turd.

As above, install it.

Are there any particular settings I need to use to get it running smooth or does the mod automatically set it up to work well?
