A friend told me there's a new mmorpg coming out next month called DarkFall, so how come I have never heard of it before? why does its website looks so bad?

If it's out by next month, how come it's not available for pre-order on any website? too weird.

Anyone is waiting and gonna be playing this game?

Who's behind it?

Any information could be nice, as well as just a general chat about the game.

If you search theres actually a fair bit of info about Darkfall. Its an MMO that was being developed by a small team for many years, to the point lots of people thought it was actually going to be vapourware, however they have recently gone into the betas, so looks like it may actually emerge.

The premises behind it are moving away from the fixed levelling systems in recent MMOs like WoW and going back to a more UO skills based system. Its likely not available for preorder as a lot of details are still heavily under lock and key, although last I heard I thought it was Quarter 01' 2009 release, not necessarily january. Graphics wise its meant to be a bit better than WoW, but thats not its point.

You could almost call it an indie MMO but its got such an underground following that doesnt seem appropriate.

As said, there's actually plenty of information out there about the game. They've even lifted the NDA on closed beta for one writer who is posting regular updates on her first impressions of the game. http://beta.thenoobcomic.com/df_preview/part1.html

I'm still not going to get too excited until I play the game for myself and enjoy it but based on the fact that they're allowing people to post their findings on the game and the fact they've said there will definately be a 'try before you buy' for the game, it seems the developers must be pretty confident in their game.

They are trying to emulate and improve on the basis that Ultima Online set. That is enough for me to wet my pants in excitement.

However, I think most of the people such as myself who are wetting their pants in excitement started to do so in around 2003, so it has died off some what.
