DarkSpore Single Player

Does anyone know if DarkSpore does have single player? A few people have said it does, whereas other say it doesn't.

Also, do you need a permanent internet connection going in order to play?

Yes it does have single player

yes to the internet connection question as you need to be logged into the server/login session

Ign said the single player was pretty hard though because it's designed for co-op

Seems like we won't get a good Diablo-a-like until Diablo 3.

It puts you in large online lobbies where you mostly ignore everyone. If you're playing alone it could be ok but it might kick you out. Can't say i experienced that when i played the beta.

I agree though, it definitely isn't designed for SP at all. 1 of the bosses in particular i remember doing it on SP and spending the whole thing getting my ass handed to me (1 boss with a 'suction' attack that pulls you towards it, not a problem, but when injured it splits into 2, then again later into 3, all of which can suction you over and over).

Doesn't help because the balance is so screwed up with multiple people. Arakna, a hero i could walk through solo with, wound up getting 2 shotted by some random frigging enemy...

Comes up with a Internet connection failed error, does let you re-connect though not sure what the time out is but a few people I played with had problems with internet connection and auto reconnected back to the same game after a few mins

I'm guessing that's when playing multi player/co-op?

I have extremely unreliable internet, so don't really want to be kicked out of a single player or LAN game just because of the internet.

Will still happen in Single player, if your internet connection dies when your on single player you will still get that error, then either have the choice to either quit game or re-connect back to current game

if your internet dies when your fighting mobs then chances are when you re-connect your player will end up being dead and you will have to select another hero

if you have unreliable internet then your going to jump into these problems a lot
