Dartford Specs Cameras

I've been over Dartford Crossing today and realised there are specs cameras on some of the gantrys.

Does anyone know how sensitive these are or know anyone that has been done by them and at what speed? If you have been through them recently what kinds of speeds do you do through them?

I'm just slightly concerned that I wasn't aware that they were there so face the possibility of being penalised. I don't remember seeing any signs for average speed cameras.

Cheers

The signs are sprayed over atm, they were'nt, but are now. Tbh, it's pretty rare that you can get anywhere near 50mph over that bridge anyway ;)

I suspected they were off too as many people drive at 70mph+ at quieter times. I'm also not sure if the average speed cameras on the A127 are working either although I don't fancy testing this :)

I pelt through the crossing at well over the posted speed limit every day and haven't gotten anything.

If they are active, they are waiting to spring a very nasty surprise on me :p

It's surprisingly common. Unless it's totally jammed up, most people go about 50/60 over it, and there's often room to comfortably go around 80 or so.

hmm Northbound is a bit of a issue, but Southbound i only really queue near rush hour.

70+ most times over the bridge itself.

I work in Essex and live in Kent and use the bridge and tunnel every day and waiting for same!

Mind you if anything like last week the tunnel was screwed most days :(
