Dash Update Details Confirmed...

It all sounds great, everything I could personally want is there... especially like that I dont have to press the middle button to see what the achievement I have just got is. Also having h.264 support will be fantastic as the quality of these files for the size of them is superb! A 1.2gb 720p file looks as good as a 5.5Gb 720p MPEG2.

I find these updates rather funny to be honest, reading through the list of 'new features' just makes me think 'hang on these should have been like that, or should have existed from the start, not a year and a half after launch' :)

Not that simple tho is it, if you go and buy a car now whats stopping you wanting another one after a while thats bigger n better?

They dont know what people want when it was first released so now they are using this time to add the stuff people want to see.

I'm guessing it's the 'drip feed' approach.

keeps us gagging for more!

Very nice update, it seems MS are offering something new and refreshing everytime there is a update.

The features are getting better and better. I hope Sony follow suit!

Only 2 features I REALLY want now is 1680x1050 support, and the ability to remove games from your profile with no achivements (like arcade games you have not purchased for example).

Nice updates - I think Microsoft definitely knows that we're paying a subscription for their services and it shows.

(and yes, give us 1680x1050 support!)

Yeah I log in using another profile to play demo's.

If they're gonna release that keyboard thing, then I think they would be better off releasing it as a seperate wireless unit instead of an attatchment for the controller.

Yeah but it's hardly convenient, attractive or easy.

The MS one is a nice little compact unit, but it's going to be awkward to use properly attatched to the controller and is going to make the controller awkward to use as well.

I can't see why they wouldn't make it a seperate wireless unit, it'd be so much better.

I have a hunch that the files you mean (the h.264 files with 5.1 sound that are found on the internet) will not work natively. The text they quote states only files that have upto 4.1 sound will be supported and no-one encodes hem like that. (Unless I am mis-reading this).

Just a hunch as the PS3 says it supports these types of files and I haven;t ben able to get them to work properly either.

I like that idea. A small two thumb operated wireless pad that looks like a tiny phone qwerty keypad (Liek a sidekick or blackberrry).

I want groups for Xbox friends list.. I have laods and dont remeber who half of them are.

Want a Family / Work / Ocuk and other groups etc.

Buying your own wireless keyboard would be cheaper.

I think most people would rather pay more and have a wireless version of the 360 keyboard instead of an unsightly wireless PC keyboard.

Dissapointing update for me.

I was after group chat with mics, and 1440x900 support. I'm not fussed about the MSN stuff. If I want to chat on MSN I'll stop playing a game and log onto it on my PC.

Bugger... I knew it sounded too good to be true! who would use 4.1? I know what you mean about the ps3 they wont play on mine either, apparently they may under Linux but its early days yet. Im just having to use the big 5Gb MPEG2 files which work great on the PS3 but would be nice to use something 1/5th of the size and with decent quality.
