Hey guys,

Sorry if this is wrong forum, seemed most fitting to me.. but then again it could comfortably go into the motors forum too!

Just wondering if anyone can recommend/advise if there is a car dashboard cam that can integrate with any vehicle tracking system (if you could advise said system too that would be great!)

Just a shot in the dark, but I have a customer of mine asking if it's something possible!

Cheers,

Jamie

Moved to motors for you, I used the roadhawk system which worked flawlessly however there are probably some newer systems to be aware of, hence moving your thread here :)

What do you mean by integrate with a tracking system? Do you want to be able to remotely access footage/control the camera etc?

A few of the cheap Ebay cameras have video out which would be a good starting point.

The HKS DMW logs the your position (and speed) by GPS and embeds it in the video file; is that what you mean?

You can't remotely access or track it though, and I suspect that's what your client wants.

Another vote for Blackvue, DR400G has been running great for about a year now, and saved my insurance from a hit and run. The Blackvue integrates GPS and accelerometer data into the video but no integration into Tracker as such. It does have video out however so could potentially feed that into a system which supports it.

Sadly the video footage from my Blackvue is such utter *****

They have a known issue whereby dust gets underneath the lens and makes the image look like someone has smeared Vaseline over the lens. You have to take it apart and clean it every so often.
