Any recommendations, ideally I dont want to spend £250 on a camera, I am thinking more around £100-150 the quality needs to be good enough to get enough detail like car type, number plate etc but doesnt need to be HD movie quality.

Anyone got any suggestions, Ideally I would like to have a battery powered unit that can be removed from the mount to charge it up rather than having cables snaking all over the place.

Yeah i saw that but having looked at the quality of video from the DVR-1 snooper its not as good as i would think would be necessary to act as evidence should you capture anything that goes on.

I think its going to come down to spending some more money

From what I have seen from the internet reviews of it not really, there are some decent £60 ones out there but when you look at the size of them they are HUGE!

Small discreet ones with decent camera's GPS and storage are around the £180-250 mark, I can see the value of them in the current climate of litigation and fraudulent claims it would be useful to have something to show your side of events.

The good thing about some of the pricier models is that they have GPS coordinates and speed built into them so you can show what was happening at least with your car.

But yes the £30 does look good one, does the suction cup work well and is it easy enough to remove the camera, I wouldnt want to leave it in the car when im not there.

Given that they are that cheap I might get one for front and back to double check.

Do these have a 1 touch instant delete? would be very useful for getting pulled over or when you know your in the wrong after a crash

If you think that your going to be in that position having one of these is probably not for you, not that it would make it any worse, if they are pulling you then they probably have enough evidence on their own in car camera to get you anyway.

what £3 camera was that, if you can tell me which one that was I will get that one :)

I am looking for something small which the £30 one up top isnt exactly tiny this one is very small, about the size of a key fob so can be installed out of site.

The £80 camera has auto start and stop when power on/off feature and the main thing is that it has car mounts, extra long power cable so you can hide it away while still mounting it where you want and it has reviews and samples of the video quality in day and night.

Some of the cheaper cameras it is almost not worth buying them because the quality of the video is so poor that you cant see anything worthwhile from the video because of cheap lenses with poor field of view etc etc.

Well I ordered one, should be delivered to work tomorrow, then the fun part comes of trying to route the cable out of the way round the screen, ideally i want to put it behind the rear view mirror, the run across the top of the window should be fine but down the side of the window is going to be hard it is really well sealed up there :)

So 2 days in, the bracket and cable kit is great, I have fixed everything into the car and tucked it all away its a bit ugly going down the passenger side column but it goes out the way nicely down by the door then under the glove box and across to the lighter socket, there is just enough cable which is handy.

The picture quality is amazing on this thing both in day and night time I cant say enough how good it is at £80 and its very easy to use and its so small you dont even notice it when its installed behind the rear view mirror.

All i can say so far is great purchase for the mobius camera.
