There was a groupbuy on V40 forum a while ago but I missed it, atm one of my parents is in Poland and can pick up this mod for 55€, worth it you guys reckon or not for 55€:

Before ( turned off though, when on there's a slight green back light):

Reckon this is worth 55€ ? It looks very neat imo but 55€ for something that doesn't add functionality... Would you guys do it ?

Does it not look silly when you are looking at it and the rest of the back lit dash buttons etc.

A lot of people have done blue LED mods on dashes. Unless you're willing to DIY (a LOT of hassle) it costs a fortune and there is always a couple of bits that take a lot of work to sort out otherwise won't match the rest of the dash.

You have to the whole hog and change ALL interior lighting, switches etc or it looks naff.

Looks like something you'd find on a "young", "hip" and "plastic" japanese hatchback, trying to appeal to youthful buyers.

It doesn't suit a car that should house a Rhodesian Ridgeback and a flat capped driver.

Ofc and (from what I can make out from the instructions) not a lot of hassle, picture by picture instructions on V40 forum and it's about 90 minutes of work.

I guess I should indeed check if I wouldn't need to replace the whole lot to make it look good...

I'm not really that bothered about that to be honest ,I can always make the rest brighter. This and my HU are the only 2 bits I really look at in my car tbh.

So basically, just make sure it doesn't look out of place with the rest ( I guess I can ask a couple of guys for pics) and some people think it's chavy :p ?

I must admit I really like the look of it, doesn't look as boring and makes it a tad more modern, but I will try to see how it looks compared to the rest.

What I don't know is whether it can be dimmed or not, the stock backlight can be dimmed or brightened or even turned off completely with a rotary button, I'm not sure whether it'll still work. It's 40€ for the board itself ( I can pick the colors myself too) and 15€ for some inverter that is needed for it.
