Anyone have one?

Seen them on sale for ~£65 and tempted to get one. Can they be wired into the ignition to turn on/off with the bike?

or anyone have a recommendation of a fairly cheap, waterproof 720p camera that can be wired into the ignition?

thanks.

Not sure if any of us here have any experience with wired in dashcams for bikes, we all use GoPro's/Drifts or similar...

I'm after a hard wired one too. I wouldn't be looking at 720p though as from the cameras I have had in my car 1080p is good but 720p is just impossible tor read registration plates should you need to.

You can charge/record on a GoPro but not when it is in it's waterproof case.

I've also been looking at RoadHawk RIDE (£100) and Mini HD2+ (£90).

I've got an innovv c3. Decent quality, and you could wire it in if you want (record on power + loop recording).

I've not bothered really, as while the lens unit is waterproof, the main unit isn't, so I'd have to figure out how to make it waterproof and where to put it. Then I'd have to get a usb socket to it somehow.

Does that run from a 5V source? seems pretty ideal, would just need to wire a regulator into the ignition and should be good to go. thanks.

It doesn't loop though from what I can tell. Hardwiring a cam and then having to take out the SD card all the time seems like a bit of a pain in the bottom.

I guess so, given it runs off usb, and usb is 5V.

Loops just fine. Writes out configurable length files, and then deletes old ones as the card is full.
