hello all :)

anyone help me out here, slightly confused with a bill i've just got from three, and last time i rang three customers services it took ages to speak to someone and even then their grasp of the english language was dubious to say the least!

I'm on Video and Talk and Text 1100, also got 30mb data allowance on that too. Now.. i've been happily using my mobile at work, and bored on trains etc to look at normal internet sites - thinking this will be using from my 30mb allowance, which i kept checking to make sure i hadn't gone over.

The figure was going down, so it made sense it was using that.. then i got a text the other day saying i'd gone over my allowance, i went to check and the counters had already reset and i'd got my next monthly allowance of data, video, calls, text etc - so i never actaully saw how much i'd gone over by.

Got my bill, and been charged £25 for 15mb of data   which has got me wondering, is the data allowance just any data in and out of the phone - or have they nicely given me 30mb allowance to access stuff on their servers only.

So i've been looking at addons, and i can set it so that each 1mb used will cost me £2 instead what i've just been charged.. but i'm now kinda worried that i'm going to loose my 30mb free allowance if i do that :(

Sod this contract rubbish! Give me my simple payg back!! hehe

With 3, you get the 30MB allowance each month (if you took your contract out after a certain date or upgraded). So you can use that for websites that are outside the 3 browser. i.e. if you are just browsing the 3 browser for say the content on there - you won't be charged.

Free internet 30 - what you have, is for anything else. i.e. BBC News, any wap pages or even normal websites.

With Free Internet 30 are you charged £2 for additional MB downloaded (for customers with the Nokia N73, this is only £1 per additional MB downloaded as that is a slightly different product with 512MB free each month).

Don't change this addon as you will loose the 30MB allocated to you. All the other packages/addons (mobile websites / wireless web) are all chargable.

hmm, working it all out it does seem about right.. but to me that is really expensive :( and i can't find any kind of addons that will extend my monthly allowance apart from the wireless web things which start at £15 a month :(

cheers for your reply and explanantion of what uses the allowance etc :)

the k800i doesnt have wifi!

one more thing, this sounds daft, and im sure i know the answer.. but if i were watching tv on it - having paid the 49p or whatever.. i wouldnt be then charged for the data used as it streams would i?
