Whats the best data destroyer to make sure something is not recoverable?

I've used Clean Disk Security before, interface is a bit rubbish but it does the job nicely (I assume).

forgot to mention its for a memory card if that makes any difference

Acronis True Image 11 Home/Professional can do this, but I think its for partitions rather than single files. It's erased to some crazy US DoD data security specification.
