Not too sure if this is the right thread or not but it relates to a Creative Vado HD 8GB High Definition Pocket Camcorder.

Basically it will not power on (tried a different battery) and will not show up when connected to a computer (tried on a mac and 2 diff pc).

I would really like to get the videos off the memory as I am resigned to loosing the hardware (cheap enough to replace) but really would like to try and retrieve the data without paying a huge amount of money. The memory is not stored on anything that can be taken out and connected to a computer easily from what I have seen.
 
If you can't pull the memory card then you are probably stuck with an expensive repair company who even then may not be able to help when they find out what is inside.
 
It will probably use a standard storage device inside, you should just be able to open up the camcorder and remove it.
 
I have opened it up and not seen anything that can be easily removed. From what I have read is it uses an internal flash memory.
