Data Recovray Software needed

The trouble is, I think I have physical hard drive failure. I have noted a few weird clicks, and this morning the data was unaccessible. The drive itself was found in windows device manager and appeared to work properly.

Then in disk management it tells me the drive is unaccessible. I obviously don't want to reformat it :)

I had hoped it would last me until tomorrow when I was planning to purchase a back up volume. Just my luck it wouldn't last till I got paid (tomorrow :/).

If it has gone to the stage of the HDD being unable to be accessed by Windows / OS of choice - It is probably beyond any software's ability to reclaim the data.

There are specialist HDD data retrieval companies - Expect to pay £200 ~ £500 depending on the popularity of the drive in question tho.

One thing to try - Stick the drive in the freezer for an hour, then try again.
If it works until it's heated up...
Freezer -> Copy -> Freezer -> Copy etc.

It hasn't though - when it works - it seems to spin up and the data isn't accessible :/ The drive name and number still appear in windows device manager though.

My brother always tells me RStudio has never failed him, not used it myself, but could be worth a look.

Trying this now - it seems to be the one that "goes" the furthest. Though it is very slow. This is going to take me until next week to finish :/

Every 30 seconds or so it comes up with a cyclic redundancy check (23) :/

How long did you say this took your brother?
