Data Roaming ON or OFF?

i dont really understand it. I'am on T-mobile UK and i want to use my mobile data...so do i turn it ON or OFF or it doesn't matter?

at the moment the screen is like this

Doesn't matter, I'd just leave it off. Enable 3G though.

Data roaming is just for using it abroad, I'd leave it off really. Mobile data needs to be on and 'Enable 3G' should be on as you'll get the faster speeds.

"Mobile Data" = The internet via cellular on your iPhone.
"Enable 3G" = Faster cellular internet.
"Data Roaming" = When the iPhone thinks it is outside of the UK, do you want Mobile Data on or off.

I personally always have Data Roaming as off, but when I go abroad I don't trust the iPhone to correctly identify that it has left the UK... so I turn Mobile Data off manually too. But if I forgot to turn Mobile Data off manually, hopefully the iPhone will detect that it is roaming outside of the UK sooner or later before it racks up too large a bill.

The only issue I've had with the iPhone not detecting that it's roaming is in Jersey and Guernsey - apparently their networks use the same country identifier code as the UK, even though they are classed and billed as outside the UK for roaming purposes.
